Lesson Deuteronomy 6:1-9, 20-25
6 And these words, which I command thee this
day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine
house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and
when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine
hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou
shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come,
saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments,
which the Lord our God hath commanded you? 21 Then thou shalt say unto
thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out
of Egypt with a mighty hand: 22 And the Lord shewed signs and wonders,
great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household,
before our eyes: 23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might
bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. 24 And
the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our
God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at
this day. 25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all
these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 3
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as
unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2 I
have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able
to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3 For ye are yet carnal: for
whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye
not carnal, and walk as men? 4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and
another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 5 Who then is Paul, and who
is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to
every man? 6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that
watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and
he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward
according to his own labour. 9 For we are labourers together with God:
ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 10 According to the grace
of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the
foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed
how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than
that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this
foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every
man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because
it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of
what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built
thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be
burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as
by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God,
him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye
are. 18 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be
wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19 For
the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He
taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth
the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 21 Therefore let no man
glory in men. For all things are yours; 22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or
Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to
come; all are yours; 23 And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

Lesson Zechariah 1:1-6, 12-17
1 In the eighth month, in the second year of
Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah,
the son of Iddo the prophet, saying, 2 The Lord hath been sore
displeased with your fathers. 3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith
the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will
turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts. 4 Be ye not as your fathers,
unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith the Lord of
hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but
they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the Lord. 5 Your fathers,
where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever? 6 But my words
and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they
not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as the
Lord of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and
according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
12 Then the angel of the Lord answered and said,
O Lord of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on
the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these
threescore and ten years? 13 And the Lord answered the angel that talked
with me with good words and comfortable words. 14 So the angel that
communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of
hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. 15
And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I
was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction. 16
Therefore thus saith the Lord; I am returned to Jerusalem with mercies:
my house shall be built in it, saith the Lord of hosts, and a line shall
be stretched forth upon Jerusalem. 17 Cry yet, saying, Thus saith the
Lord of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad;
and the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

Lesson Mark 8:27—9:1
27 And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into
the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples,
saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? 28 And they answered, John
the Baptist: but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets. 29
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answereth
and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ. 30 And he charged them that
they should tell no man of him. 31 And he began to teach them, that the
Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and
of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days
rise again. 32 And he spake that saying openly. And Peter took him, and
began to rebuke him. 33 But when he had turned about and looked on his
disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou
savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.
34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also,
he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself,
and take up his cross, and follow me. 35 For whosoever will save his
life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and
the gospel's, the same shall save it. 36 For what shall it profit a man,
if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? 37 Or what
shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 Whosoever therefore shall
be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful
generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh
in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.
1 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you,
That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of
death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

Lesson Amos 5:4-15
4 For thus saith the Lord unto the house of
Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: 5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter
into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into
captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought. 6 Seek the Lord, and ye
shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and
devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel. 7 Ye who turn
judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth, 8 Seek
him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of
death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth
for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the
earth: The Lord is his name: 9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against
the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress. 10 They
hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh
uprightly. 11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and
ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone,
but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but
ye shall not drink wine of them. 12 For I know your manifold
transgressions, and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a
bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right. 13
Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil
time. 14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the Lord, the
God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. 15 Hate the evil,
and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that
the Lord God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of
Joseph.

Lesson Galatians 5:16-24
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye
shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against
the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the
one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But
if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works
of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance,
emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders,
drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before,
as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things
shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is
love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are
Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Lesson Proverbs 4:7-18
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get
wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 8 Exalt her, and she
shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost
embrace her. 9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a
crown of glory shall she deliver to thee. 10 Hear, O my son, and receive
my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many. 11 I have taught
thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. 12 When thou
goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou
shalt not stumble. 13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go:
keep her; for she is thy life. 14 Enter not into the path of the wicked,
and go not in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn
from it, and pass away. 16 For they sleep not, except they have done
mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more
and more unto the perfect day.

Lesson Luke 11:29-36
29 And when the people were gathered thick
together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign;
and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of
man be to this generation. 31 The queen of the south shall rise up in
the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she
came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon;
and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineve shall
rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for
they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than
Jonas is here. 33 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a
secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they
which come in may see the light. 34 The light of the body is the eye:
therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of
light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35
Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. 36
If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the
whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle
doth give thee light.

Lesson Genesis 37:3-28, 36
3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his
children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat
of many colours. 4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him
more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak
peaceably unto him. 5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his
brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6 And he said unto them,
Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7 For, behold, we
were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also
stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made
obeisance to my sheaf. 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed
reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they
hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. 9 And he
dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I
have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the
eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and
to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is
this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy
brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 11 And
his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying. 12 And his
brethren went to feed their father's flock in Shechem. 13 And Israel
said unto Joseph, Do not thy brethren feed the flock in Shechem? come,
and I will send thee unto them. And he said to him, Here am I. 14 And he
said to him, Go, I pray thee, see whether it be well with thy brethren,
and well with the flocks; and bring me word again. So he sent him out of
the vale of Hebron, and he came to Shechem. 15 And a certain man found
him, and, behold, he was wandering in the field: and the man asked him,
saying, What seekest thou? 16 And he said, I seek my brethren: tell me,
I pray thee, where they feed their flocks. 17 And the man said, They are
departed hence; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph
went after his brethren, and found them in Dothan. 18 And when they saw
him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against
him to slay him. 19 And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer
cometh. 20 Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into
some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we
shall see what will become of his dreams. 21 And Reuben heard it, and he
delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him. 22 And
Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is
in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out
of their hands, to deliver him to his father again. 23 And it came to
pass when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stripped Joseph
out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him; 24 And they
took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no
water in it. 25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their
eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead
with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it
down to Egypt. 26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if
we slay our brother, and conceal his blood? 27 Come, and let us sell him
to the Ishmeelites, and let not our hand be upon him; for he is our
brother and our flesh. And his brethren were content. 28 Then there
passed by Midianites, merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph
out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of
silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.
36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto
Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, and captain of the guard.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 9:15
15 But I have used none of these things: neither
have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it
were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying
void. 16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for
necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the
gospel! 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if
against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 18
What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may
make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in
the gospel. 19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself
servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20 And unto the Jews I
became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the
law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21
To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to
God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are
without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the
weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save
some. 23 And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker
thereof with you. 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all,
but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every
man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they
do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. 26 I
therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that
beateth the air: 27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into
subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I
myself should be a castaway.

Lesson Jeremiah 7:1-15
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord,
saying, 2 Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this
word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in
at these gates to worship the Lord. 3 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the
God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to
dwell in this place. 4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple
of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these.
5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly
execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 6 If ye oppress not
the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood
in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7 Then will I
cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your
fathers, for ever and ever. 8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that
cannot profit. 9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear
falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye
know not; 10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called
by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 11
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in
your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord. 12 But go ye now
unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and
see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. 13 And now,
because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto
you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you,
but ye answered not; 14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is
called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to
you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. 15 And I will cast
you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the
whole seed of Ephraim.

Lesson Mark 10:17-31
17 And when he was gone forth into the way,
there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master,
what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18 And Jesus said unto
him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill,
Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father
and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have
I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and
said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou
hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and
come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that
saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. 23 And
Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall
they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24 And the
disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and
saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches
to enter into the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the
kingdom of God. 26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among
themselves, Who then can be saved? 27 And Jesus looking upon them saith,
With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are
possible. 28 Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and
have followed thee. 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto
you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or
father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the
gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time,
houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands,
with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. 31 But many
that are first shall be last; and the last first.

Lesson Genesis 40
1 And it came to pass after these things, that
the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord
the king of Egypt. 2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers,
against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers. 3
And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into
the prison, the place where Joseph was bound. 4 And the captain of the
guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a
season in ward. 5 And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his
dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his
dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound
in the prison. 6 And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked
upon them, and, behold, they were sad. 7 And he asked Pharaoh's officers
that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore
look ye so sadly today? 8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a
dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do
not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you. 9 And the
chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream,
behold, a vine was before me; 10 And in the vine were three branches:
and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the
clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes: 11 And Pharaoh's cup was in
my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and
I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand. 12 And Joseph said unto him, This is
the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days: 13 Yet
within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee
unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand,
after the former manner when thou wast his butler. 14 But think on me
when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto
me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15 For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here
also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon. 16
When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto
Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets
on my head: 17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of
bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon
my head. 18 And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation
thereof: The three baskets are three days: 19 Yet within three days
shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a
tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee. 20 And it came to
pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast
unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and
of the chief baker among his servants. 21 And he restored the chief
butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's
hand: 22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to
them. 23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat
him.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 10:1-13
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should
be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all
passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud
and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all
drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock
that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them
God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust
after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as
were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and
drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some
of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were
destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also
murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things
happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our
admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let
him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful,
who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will
with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to
bear it.

Lesson Jeremiah 7: 21-29
21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of
Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 22
For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I
brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or
sacrifices: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice,
and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all
the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 24 But
they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels
and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not
forward. 25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land
of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the
prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: 26 Yet they hearkened
not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did
worse than their fathers. 27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words
unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto
them; but they will not answer thee. 28 But thou shalt say unto them,
This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor
receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their
mouth. 29 Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up

Lesson Mark 10:32-45
32 And they were in the way going up to
Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they
followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to
tell them what things should happen unto him, 33 Saying, Behold, we go
up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief
priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and
shall deliver him to the Gentiles: 34 And they shall mock him, and shall
scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third
day he shall rise again. 35 And James and John, the sons of Zebedee,
come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us
whatsoever we shall desire. 36 And he said unto them, What would ye that
I should do for you? 37 They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may
sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy
glory. 38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye
drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that
I am baptized with? 39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said
unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with
the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized: 40 But to
sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it
shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. 41 And when the ten
heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John. 42 But
Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which
are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and
their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be
among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your
minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant
of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but
to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Lesson Genesis 41:1a, 8, 14-24
1 And it came to pass at the end of two full
years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river.
8 And it came to pass in the morning that his
spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of
Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream;
but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.
14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they
brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and
changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh. 15 And Pharaoh said unto
Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it:
and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to
interpret it. 16 And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me:
God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace. 17 And Pharaoh said unto
Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river: 18 And,
behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well
favoured; and they fed in a meadow: 19 And, behold, seven other kine
came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as
I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness: 20 And the lean and
the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine: 21 And when
they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them;
but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. So I awoke. 22
And I saw in my dream, and, behold, seven ears came up in one stalk,
full and good: 23 And, behold, seven ears, withered, thin, and blasted
with the east wind, sprung up after them: 24 And the thin ears devoured
the seven good ears: and I told this unto the magicians; but there was
none that could declare it to me.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 10:14-22
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from
idolatry. 15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say. 16 The cup of
blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?
The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all
partakers of that one bread. 18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not
they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar? 19 What say I
then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice
to idols is any thing? 20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles
sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not
that ye should have fellowship with devils. 21 Ye cannot drink the cup
of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's
table, and of the table of devils. 22 Do we provoke the Lord to
jealousy? are we stronger than he?

Lesson Jeremiah 8:4-13
4 Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith
the Lord; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not
return? 5 Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a
perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 6 I
hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of
his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his
course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. 7 Yea, the stork in the
heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the
swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the
judgment of the Lord. 8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the
Lord is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the
scribes is in vain. 9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and
taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the Lord; and what wisdom is
in them? 10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their
fields to them that shall inherit them: for every one from the least
even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even
unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. 11 For they have healed the
hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when
there is no peace. 12 Were they ashamed when they had committed
abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they
blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of
their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the Lord. 13 I will
surely consume them, saith the Lord: there shall be no grapes on the
vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things
that I have given them shall pass away from them.

Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging. 47 And
when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and
say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me. 48 And many charged him
that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou
Son of David, have mercy on me. 49 And Jesus stood still, and commanded
him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of
good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. 50 And he, casting away his
garment, rose, and came to Jesus. 51 And Jesus answered and said unto
him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto
him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. 52 And Jesus said unto him, Go

sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Lesson Genesis 41:25-40
25 And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of
Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26 The
seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven
years: the dream is one. 27 And the seven thin and ill favoured kine
that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears
blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine. 28 This is
the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he
sheweth unto Pharaoh. 29 Behold, there come seven years of great plenty
throughout all the land of Egypt: 30 And there shall arise after them
seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land
of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; 31 And the plenty shall
not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it
shall be very grievous. 32 And for that the dream was doubled unto
Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God
will shortly bring it to pass. 33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a
man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34 Let
Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up
the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years. 35 And
let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up
corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. 36
And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of
famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not
through the famine. 37 And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh,
and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said unto his
servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the spirit of
God is? 39 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed
thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40 Thou
shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people
be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 10:23--11:1
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things
are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify
not. 24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth. 25
Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for
conscience sake: 26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness
thereof. 27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye
be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question
for conscience sake. 28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in
sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for
conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my
liberty judged of another man's conscience? 30 For if I by grace be a
partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? 31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the
glory of God. 32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the
Gentiles, nor to the church of God: 33 Even as I please all men in all
things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they
may be saved. Chapter 11 1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of
Christ.

Lesson Jeremiah 9:2-16
2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging
place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them!
for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men. 3 And they
bend their tongues like their bow for lies: but they are not valiant for
the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they
know not me, saith the Lord. 4 Take ye heed every one of his neighbour,
and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly
supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders. 5 And they will
deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have
taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit
iniquity. 6 Thine habitation is in the midst of deceit; through deceit
they refuse to know me, saith the Lord. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord
of hosts, Behold, I will melt them, and try them; for how shall I do for
the daughter of my people? 8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it
speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth,
but in heart he layeth his wait. 9 Shall I not visit them for these
things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as
this? 10 For the mountains will I take up a weeping and wailing, and for
the habitations of the wilderness a lamentation, because they are burned
up, so that none can pass through them; neither can men hear the voice
of the cattle; both the fowl of the heavens and the beast are fled; they
are gone. 11 And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and
I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant. 12 Who
is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the
mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land
perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
13 And the Lord saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set
before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein; 14
But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after
Baalim, which their fathers taught them: 15 Therefore thus saith the
Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this
people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. 16 I will
scatter them also among the heathen, whom neither they nor their fathers
have known: and I will send a sword after them, till I have consumed
them.

Lesson Mark 11:12-26
11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into
the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now
the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve. 12 And
on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And
seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might
find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but
leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said
unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples
heard it. 15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple,
and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and
overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that
sold doves; 16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel
through the temple. 17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not
written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer?
but ye have made it a den of thieves. 18 And the scribes and chief
priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared
him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. 19 And when
even was come, he went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, as they
passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter
calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree
which thou cursedst is withered away. 22 And Jesus answering saith unto
them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever
shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the
sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those
things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he
saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when
ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. 25 And
when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your
Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. 26 But

forgive your trespasses.

Lesson Genesis 42:1-26, 29a, 35-38
1 Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in
Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another? 2 And
he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down
thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die. 3
And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt. 4 But
Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he
said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him. 5 And the sons of Israel
came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land
of Canaan. 6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was
that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and
bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. 7 And
Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto
them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come
ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food. 8 And Joseph
knew his brethren, but they knew not him. 9 And Joseph remembered the
dreams which he dreamed of them, and said unto them, Ye are spies; to
see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 10 And they said unto him,
Nay, my lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. 11 We are all one
man's sons; we are true men, thy servants are no spies. 12 And he said
unto them, Nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. 13 And
they said, Thy servants are twelve brethren, the sons of one man in the
land of Canaan; and, behold, the youngest is this day with our father,
and one is not. 14 And Joseph said unto them, That is it that I spake
unto you, saying, Ye are spies: 15 Hereby ye shall be proved: By the
life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest
brother come hither. 16 Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother,
and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether
there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are
spies. 17 And he put them all together into ward three days. 18 And
Joseph said unto them the third day, This do, and live; for I fear God:
19 If ye be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of
your prison: go ye, carry corn for the famine of your houses: 20 But
bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified,
and ye shall not die. And they did so. 21 And they said one to another,
We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish
of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is
this distress come upon us. 22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I
not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not
hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required. 23 And they knew
not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an
interpreter. 24 And he turned himself about from them, and wept; and
returned to them again, and communed with them, and took from them
Simeon, and bound him before their eyes. 25 Then Joseph commanded to
fill their sacks with corn, and to restore every man's money into his
sack, and to give them provision for the way: and thus did he unto them.
26 And they laded their asses with the corn, and departed thence.
29 And they came unto Jacob their father unto
the land of Canaan, and told him all that befell unto them; saying,
35 And it came to pass as they emptied their
sacks, that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack: and
when both they and their father saw the bundles of money, they were
afraid. 36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of
my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin
away: all these things are against me. 37 And Reuben spake unto his
father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver
him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again. 38 And he said, My
son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left
alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall
ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Lesson 1 Corinthians 11:17
17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise
you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse. 18
For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there
be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. 19 For there must be
also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made
manifest among you. 20 When ye come together therefore into one place,
this is not to eat the Lord's supper. 21 For in eating every one taketh
before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the
church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you?
shall I praise you in this? I praise you not. 23 For I have received of
the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the
same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given
thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is
broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner
also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new
testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance
of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do
shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat
this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty
of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and
so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that
eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to
himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak
and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge
ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are
chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for
another. 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not
together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I
come.

17 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider ye,
and call for the mourning women, that they may come; and send for
cunning women, that they may come: 18 And let them make haste, and take
up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our
eyelids gush out with waters. 19 For a voice of wailing is heard out of
Zion, How are we spoiled! we are greatly confounded, because we have
forsaken the land, because our dwellings have cast us out. 20 Yet hear
the word of the Lord, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of
his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour
lamentation. 21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered
into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young
men from the streets. 22 Speak, Thus saith the Lord, Even the carcases
of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after
the harvestman, and none shall gather them. 23 Thus saith the Lord, Let
not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory
in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 24 But let him

righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the

1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A
certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a
place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen,
and went into a far country. 2 And at the season he sent to the
husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the
fruit of the vineyard. 3 And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him
away empty. 4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him
they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away
shamefully handled. 5 And again he sent another; and him they killed,
and many others; beating some, and killing some. 6 Having yet therefore
one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They
will reverence my son. 7 But those husbandmen said among themselves,
This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be
ours. 8 And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the
vineyard. 9 What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will
come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.
10 And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders
rejected is become the head of the corner: 11 This was the Lord's doing,
and it is marvellous in our eyes? 12 And they sought to lay hold on him,
but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable
against them: and they left him, and went their way.

Lesson Genesis 43:1-5, 11-16, 26-34
1 And the famine was sore in the land. 2 And it
came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out
of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food. 3
And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us,
saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you. 4 If
thou wilt send our brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food: 5
But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said
unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your brother be with you.
11 And their father Israel said unto them, If it
must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your
vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little
honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds: 12 And take double money in
your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your
sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight: 13
Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man: 14 And God
Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other
brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.
15 And the men took that present, and they took double money in their
hand, and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood
before Joseph. 16 And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the
ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for
these men shall dine with me at noon.
26 And when Joseph came home, they brought him
the present which was in their hand into the house, and bowed themselves
to him to the earth. 27 And he asked them of their welfare, and said, Is
your father well, the old man of whom ye spake? Is he yet alive? 28 And
they answered, Thy servant our father is in good health, he is yet
alive. And they bowed down their heads, and made obeisance. 29 And he
lifted up his eyes, and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son, and
said, Is this your younger brother, of whom ye spake unto me? And he
said, God be gracious unto thee, my son. 30 And Joseph made haste; for
his bowels did yearn upon his brother: and he sought where to weep; and
he entered into his chamber, and wept there. 31 And he washed his face,
and went out, and refrained himself, and said, Set on bread. 32 And they
set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the
Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians
might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto
the Egyptians. 33 And they sat before him, the firstborn according to
his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men
marvelled one at another. 34 And he took and sent messes unto them from
before him: but Benjamin's mess was five times so much as any of theirs.
And they drank, and were merry with him.

Lesson I Cor. 12:1-11
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I
would not have you ignorant. 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried
away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3 Wherefore I give you
to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus
accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the
Holy Ghost. 4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5
And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And
there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to
every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word
of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To
another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the
same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy;
to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of
tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the salfsame Spirit,
dividing to every man severally as he will.

Lesson Jeremiah 10:1-13
1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto
you, O house of Israel: 2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the
heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are
dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one
cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman,
with the axe. 4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it
with nails and with hammers, that it move not. 5 They are upright as the
palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot
go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it
in them to do good. 6 Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord;
thou art great, and thy name is great in might. 7 Who would not fear
thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as
among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there
is none like unto thee. 8 But they are altogether brutish and foolish:
the stock is a doctrine of vanities. 9 Silver spread into plates is
brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and
of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are
all the work of cunning men. 10 But the Lord is the true God, he is the
living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall
tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. 11
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and
the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these
heavens. 12 He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the
world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his
discretion. 13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of
waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the
ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth
the wind out of his treasures.

Lesson Mark 12:13-17
13 And they send unto him certain of the
Pharisees and of the Herodians, to catch him in his words. 14 And when
they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true,
and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but
teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to
Caesar, or not? 15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing
their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that
I may see it. 16 And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is
this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's. 17 And
Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are
Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at
him.
